Q:

Soon my kids (first, third, ninth) will be out of school. How can we wind down the year most efficiently? -- End of the Year

A:

One of the most important things for children to do at all levels in school is to make sure that they bring home all of their possessions, from reports and projects to artwork that they wish to keep. Also, any sports equipment or musical instruments need to be brought home.

On the other side, all library books and any tablets furnished by the school must be returned to avoid fines. Finally, it can be wise for children to visit the school's lost and found to see if anything that they have been missing has been found.

If your children want to get a head start on next year, find out if they can check out some of the next year's textbooks. If they have struggled, bringing home and working with textbooks they have used can make a difference in the next school year.
